Forest Hillside Glamping Retreat is located near Lochiel, Central Southland New Zealand, just 11 minutes drive from Winton, 26 minutes from Invercargill and about 2 hours south of Queenstown.

Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or an adventurous getaway, our glamping accommodation provides the perfect blend of comfort and nature. The Lotus Belle Mahal with a giant floor space of 65 square metres sits within a patch of picturesque trees and garden providing spots of welcome shade and privacy located near Forest Hill on a 3.5 acre property, 5 minutes from Forest Hill Scenic Reserve which has multiple day walk options.

The romantic, Lotus Belle tent can be configured with beds to sleep up to six people, beautifully dressed in deluxe linen. Two stylishly built huts accompany the tent, forming a camp bathroom and kitchen. An additional outdoor area provides a fantastic al fresco dining space.

Two deep, claw-foot baths sit side-by-side, giving you the chance to soak and relax together while you take in the forest garden views over the private area. The starry sky at night is breathtaking.

THE TENT

The tent at Forest Hillside Glamping Retreat is a blend of luxury and nature. Nestled within a lush grove, the Lotus Belle Mahal offers an expansive and serene living area, ideal for couples or families seeking a tranquil escape. Its spacious design allows up to six occupants to experience comfort without compromise, plush beds with a wool underlay, 100% cotton sheets, deluxe linen duvets and cosy neutral throws. The tent is dressed with oak furnishings and rustic decor to give it a timeless appeal. The tent features power to charge your devices, a heating-cooling unit, a cosy corner bean bag couch and suttle lighting giving off a relaxed ambience feel. A selection of board games are also available for you to delve into. Just outside, the fresh air invites you to savour al fresco meals and unwind under the stars.

THE KITCHEN

Nestled within the serene embrace of Forest Hillside Glamping Retreat, the kitchen is more than a mere space for culinary creation; it is the heart of your temporary haven. Here, you will find everything you need to prepare and serve meals. Whether you're preparing a morning brew or assembling a leisurely afternoon platter, this kitchen is equipped to enhance your glamping experience. A complimantary breakfast is available for one morning of your stay. This includes a selection of Cereals, Free Range Eggs, breads and spreads. Refreshments such as Coffee, Tea, Milo, Hot Chocolate, Milk and Juice are also available.

THE BATHROOM

Upon completion of your outdoor bathing experience be sure to wrap up in our 100% Cotton Robes and head to the shower, if desired. In our custom made bathroom shed, designed to match our Kitchen you will find a flushable toilet, shower and basin.
